Hello,

Here is some care information about your orange star: Orange Stars can be planted outside and will tolerate USDA hardiness zones 7-10. If you live below zone 7, you may want to keep them in a pot so if you can bring it inside when the weather gets cold. They do not tolerate frost and will not come back next season if they are exposed to it. If they are kept in direct sunlight the leaves can get burned so keep them in an area that gets filtered light or partial shade during the day.

Since orange stars are perennials, it is possible to get them to bloom again next season. You should cut back the flower stalk to the base of the plant to allow it to flower the next season. This will let the plant put more energy into the bulb and store it for the next season. Once all the foliage has died back, the bulb should not be watered until you start to see new growth again in autumn. This should allow your orange star to bloom again next year! Please let me know if you have any other questions!
