Michigan winters will most likely be too cold for your azalea. I recommend keeping it in a pot outside until the sign of frost. You can then move move it into the house to protect it from the harsh weather.

I also have an azalea with white flowers and 3 braided stems. Is there anyone at your company who knows if it is ok to plant and stay in the ground through Michigan winters?

Could post a picture of your azalea's flowers? Sadly that code will not help me find out which variety you have. If you do not have a picture, you could describe the color for me and that would also help. Most of the azaleas we sell are not too hardy when it comes to harsh climates. I would suggest keeping it in a pot inside. You can also leave the pot outside, but then when the weather is harsh in the winter move it into the house.

It seems that most people in this forum like myself are trying to find out if their Azalea tree can be planted outdoors. You say that certain varieties tolerate warmer or cooler temperatures. Can you be more specific, which tolerate warm or cooler. How can one tell which variety they have. My azalea did come Rocket Farms but has no instructions with it. I would hate to guess and have that guess be wrong. I do have a number on it 030134210372. I also live in Michigan. It seems that if it was shipped to Michigan you would be able to plant outdoors but who knows.

Azaleas generally tolerate USDA hardiness zones 4-9, although there are certain varieties that will tolerate warmer or cooler temperatures. Depending on which zone the azalea will be planted it, it may be better as an indoor or outdoor plant. The best time to plant an azalea is in the early spring or late fall, so right now is a great time to plant! Remember that azaleas prefer a more acidic soil (soil with a pH between 4.5-6) and partial shade. Pick a spot that receive some sunlight, but that is not in full sun all day long.

Hi, I would like to know too! I bought 2 azaleas in Massachusetts with your name on the tag and this upc# 0 30134 210044. I just wanted to find out its hardiness grade so I know how to care for the plant. Also I put it in a south bound garden that gets sun all day, is that where I should plant it? Will it bloom again next year here on the East Coast? Thank you!!

I have the same question. My daughter bought me an azalea tree. It has pink and white flowers, and the trunk is like woven. Is it for inside or outside? I'm from Michigan.
