I received an Amaryllis for Xmas. It bloomed(had 2 stalks with 5 flowers ea. and I would like more detailed info on how to care for it. I would love to see a repeat of the previous blooms Your website was printed on the box.
If you have not already done so, you should cut the stalk down to the base of the bulb. Continue to water as needed and fertilize every two weeks. Your bulb will create vegetative growth which will help gather nutrients to store in the bulb. These nutrients are important for next season's flowers. Keeping your bulb in the sunniest location possible and fertilizing will help encourage vegetative growth. If your climate is mild in the spring time, you should move your plant outdoors and continue to water and fertilize. If you want your bloom ready for the next holiday season, dormancy must be started in August. In August, stop watering and fertilizing and move your bulb to a cool location for 10 weeks. After 10 weeks, you should start to fertilize and water again. I hope this information helps and please let us know if you have any more questions!
