I have planted my "Victory " rose outside in June of this year. It is doing well. I live up state New York near Albany. My question is do I trim or do anything special to the rose bush to help it survive the winter cold and snow.
Thank You
Ed

Hi Ed,

Since you live in an area with harsh winters, it is a good idea to cut your rose back for the winter. Cut it back leaving three or more canes which should allow for new growth when winter is over. put a thick layer of mulch (1-2 ft.) over your rose. this will prevent damage from the cold weather. Let me know if you have any other questions!
