Someone gave me a Lucky Bamboo plant for my 60th anniversary and I would like to know more about it, how to care for it etc. Thank You!

Lucky Bamboo plants are fairly easy to grow and do great indoors. They prefer bright filtered light and do not do well in direct sunlight. Keep them in an area that receives indirect, bright light and they will stay healthy. When watering your plant, use distilled water or leave tap water out for 24 hours before watering. Lucky Bamboo plants are sensitive to the chlorine levels in tap water and leaving the water out overnight will allow the chlorine to evaporate. These plants do well in 1-2 inches of water and will do even better if this water is changed every 1 or 2 weeks. If your plant is in soil, keep it moist but not soaking wet all of the time. They prefer warmer temperatures (65-70 degrees). Usually Lucky Bamboo plants will grow fine without fertilizer, but if your plant starts to look unhealthy or show signs of discoloring, a small amount of a potted plant fertilizer should help it look happy again. Congratulations on your 60th anniversary and I hope that this information will help you care for your Lucky Bamboo plant!
