I was just given a beautiful small rose (Parade Roses - Rosa Hybrid). It is in full bloom. Do I keep it inside until it finishes blooming and I deadhead it, or can I plant in outside now? Do I feed it right away, or when I plant it outside? Thanks, Jean, Sacramento

Hi Jean,

You can plant it outside right now if you like and begin fertilizing it. Plant it in a sunny area and once the flowers die off remove them from the plant. It is not necessary to prune these types of roses, though you can to help it keep a nice shape. The plant will stay small and will not get more than a few feet tall.
