Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Accounting Manager, the A/P Specialist is responsible for accounting functions and managing administrative details related to accounts payable. The Accounts Payable Specialist works both under the direction of the Accounting Manager and independently to manage tasks and assignments in a timely manner to meet company deadlines and goals and ensure accounts payable are processed according to company policies and procedures.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Sort and open daily mail delivery.
  • Verify Purchase Order and Receipts on invoices.
  • Send invoices to appropriate people for approval.
  • Communicate with vendors and purchasers (both electronically and on the phone) regarding invoice approvals and outstanding balances.
  • Cross reference vendor statements.
  • Review past due purchase orders.
  • Post to accounts payable system and issue weekly check run.
  • Prepare and submit weekly wire and ACH payments to the bank.
  • Prepare vendor checks for mailing.
  • File documentation related to work duties.
  • Assist with requests for information from other departments.
  • Assist with requests for information from Auditors.
  • Other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required.
  • Three years or more accounts payable work experience required.
  • Detail - oriented and able to manage and post large volume of data with speed and accuracy.
  • Able to plan, organize, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Able to establish and maintain efficient filing and record retention of financial documents.
  • Strong computer skills including experience with ERP accounting systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products, Microsoft Windows.
  • Intermediate Excel skills required.
  • Navision ERP experience preferred, not required.

Job Summary:

This position will oversee the on-time execution of key growing activities such as spacing, pruning, moving, and dumping and labor management for the Half Moon Bay greenhouse operations. This position requires a boots-on-the-ground, day-to-day operations leader of greenhouses and the greenhouse management team.

 

Essential Responsibilities (Responsibilities and Duties):

  • Very close coordination and communication with grower managers. 
  • Responsibility to budget and forecast labor on a weekly basis to ensure proper and effective execution of all growing activities.
  • Responsibility for the planning and execution of crop activities such as laying down, moving, spacing, pinching, staking, and tying, housekeeping, consolidating, and dumping.
  • Validation of inventories after transactions such as moving, spacing, and dumping have been completed in the field. Perform spot checks to validate if data in the system is consistent with physical crop locations in the greenhouses.
  • Ensure labor is deployed in the most efficient and effective way.
  • Oversee that crops scrapped are recorded accurately and on time in the system.
  • Ensure all crop batches have their “Growing Label” at all times, from laydown to shipping.
  • Facilitate daily meetings with growers to ensure proper execution of activities.
  • Assist with the implementation of an automated task management system.
  • Help on any other activities designated, including but not limited to biological control, trials, and flagging crops.
  • Promote a culture of safety; if needed, initiate corrective actions with employees.
  • Prepare reports for growers regarding farm conditions, crop yields, machinery breakdowns, or labor problems.

 

Requirements (Qualifications and Skills):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, or Plant Science required
  • 3-5 years previous experience in indoor potted plant nursery industry required
  • Bilingual (English Spanish) required
  • Proficient Microsoft Office knowledge (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) also required
  • A strong sense of teamwork, and great customer service with our customers, our breeders, and grower partners, is essential
  • Excellent leadership and management skills necessary.
  • 3 years minimum managing direct reports successful in nursery business.

This role will oversee crops grown in the Half Moon Bay area. The Grower I should adhere to established best practices and strategies to ensure success, which is measured via specific and defined objectives related to quality, crop timing and yield.

 

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Responsible for record keeping associated with assigned crops in all areas of harvesting as assigned by manager.
  • Responsible for water, fertility, soil, pest disease, crop timing, scheduling and planning management for assigned crops.
  • Manage quality control for assigned crops to ensure crops specifications are being met on a timely manner.
  • Liaison between Horticulture Department and Operations Department to ensure efficient communication regarding labor deployment efficiencies.
  • Report and communicate any problems associated with assigned crops to grower manager and other pertinent functions.
  • Effectively lead and supervise sprayers and irrigators by providing proper training, following safety procedures and taking disciplinary actions as needed.

Job Summary:

Rocket Farms’ Supply Chain is looking for a detail-oriented and highly motivated individual, a fast learner, and a team player to grow with the Purchasing Team in this unique industry.

The Procurement Coordinator is responsible for processing procurement related paperwork, running daily material replenishment reports to allocate supplies to the correct functions and/or departments to support daily manufacturing activities, data keeping of proper inventory records, in-person interaction and coordination on various sample packages among the facility, and replenishing growing materials and horticultural supplies for the company, with close collaboration with Purchasing, Receiving, Transportation, Planning, Horticulture, Operation, Sales Order Entry, and Cost Accounting Teams.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Continuously monitor all supply inventory to ensure timely fulfillment of production requirement. Execute daily material request planning reports to allocate packaging hardgoods supplies from receiving warehouse to operation packing lines and follow up misc. reclass and transfer order to ensure system data up to date. Arrange hardgoods inventory movement to support last minute packing facility changes.
  • Update system daily assembly order substitution materials per Operation Team’s records and assembly BOM on product mix per Planning Team’s requests.
  • Resolve sales order shipment posting inventory issues by inventory adjustment and reclass.
  • Coordinate company transfer orders among different facilities and up-keep system transfer order records.
  • Compile weekly and monthly inventory reports in support of operation team’s cycle count and inventory scrap activities. Keep system data up to date and reconcile inventory at month end, including contract grower/packer’s inventory analysis to assist proper month-end closing.
  • Coordinate seasonal packaging test with an understanding of sales orders, product Bill of Materials, and data maintenance.
  • Process purchase orders in support of purchasing team, constant coordination with company Purchasing, Receiving, Operation, Accounting Teams, and outside suppliers, custom brokers, and/or contract growers/packers.
  • Monitor and identify any order fulfillment discrepancies on loss and defects from the suppliers to take corrective actions, compile vendor credit claim reports with supporting pictures, and follow up claim status.
  • Stay on top of product delivery status including growing materials and packaging hardgoods. Coordinate with custom brokers, trucking companies, and shippers for the latest delivery status. Notify Receiving, Horticulture, and Operation Teams for physical receiving and/or Purchasing Team for delivery delay and trouble shooting.
  • Asist Purchasing Team in product development by verifying receipts of product samples and coordinate needed outbound sample packages.
  • Backfill and support team member functions to ensure no disruption of company business in facility purchasing and UPC printing requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
