Position Summary:

As Rocket Farms Engineer, you will join the Maintenance team to maintain our existing facilities while assisting in plan and execution for expansion. You will plan, design, and oversee the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, and structures at our offices and production greenhouse facilities. This role will have the opportunity to make a huge impact on the future growth of all of our facilities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design, construction and qualification of a new facility projects across Rocket Farms.
  • Structures an organization to assist in the construction and long-term operation of the our sites, including but not limited to: facilities, project engineering, metrology, site services, reliability engineering, CQV and plant engineering.
  • Generates, plans and executes multi-project plan which meets financial and manufacturing targets.
  • Provides direction on equipment design, procurement, installation, commissioning and validation.
  • Provides direction on new building design, clean-room design, automation infrastructure design and general site related projects.
  • Supports the generation of structured work-plans and consistently works to improve department workflow and standards.
  • Works closely with Horticulture, Quality, Manufacturing, Validation, Facilities and Site Management to execute projects without impeding production.
  • Manages monthly roll-up of project budgets and expense budget associated with process equipment repairs.
  • Evaluates “facility fit” for new projects / processes and develops estimates for any required modifications or additional equipment loads.
  • Provides technical evaluation and input for Quality Assurance initiatives.
  • Works closely with finance to meet financial targets of each individual project and the site from a capital and general expense perspective.
  • Understands client relationships and assists site leadership team in securing new business at the site.
  • Works with partners to understand their needs and manages the technical relationship with partners.
  • Ensure all projects are executed with the highest level of planning and safety to prevent injuries and downtime.

 

Requirements:

  • A BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or related discipline with at least 2 years of engineering or manufacturing experience (preferably in greenhouse manufacturing operations).
  • Independent thinker, who with little oversight, can identify and diagnose problems, and implement appropriate and sustainable solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude and the ability to work with people from varied backgrounds and experiences.

Position Summary:

The Grower I is responsible for the care of the crops being assigned by his/her supervisor ensuring that crops will finish on time and according to internal harvest specifications. This role will oversee crops grown in the Half Moon Bay area. The Grower I should adhere to established best practices and strategies to ensure success, which is measured via specific and defined objectives related to quality, crop timing and yield.

 

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Responsible for record keeping associated with assigned crops in all areas of harvesting as assigned by manager.
  • Responsible for water, fertility, soil, pest disease, crop timing, scheduling and planning management for assigned crops.
  • Manage quality control for assigned crops to ensure crops specifications are being met on a timely manner.
  • Liaison between Horticulture Department and Operations Department to ensure efficient communication regarding labor deployment efficiencies.
  • Report and communicate any problems associated with assigned crops to grower manager and other pertinent functions.
  • Effectively lead and supervise sprayers and irrigators by providing proper training, following safety procedures and taking disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Responsible for overseeing greenhouse daily maintenance, including a clean and safe work environment.
  • Work responsibly at all times. Report any hazardous conditions to department head.
  • This position works on a rotational schedule with other Growers to cover weekend work.
  • Perform any other related or assigned duties as required or assigned.

 

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture or Biological Sciences required.
  • 1year minimum pertinent work experience in managing greenhouses, crop trials and related fields required.
  • Must be capable of managing up to 3 employees; on the job training will be provided.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Bilingual (English/ Spanish) preferred.
  • Valid California Driver’s License and eligibility for company auto insurance required.

Job Summary:

The Irrigator and Sprayer is responsible for performing various tasks to aid the cultivation of plants as directed by the Grower. The Sprayer performs daily duties such as, but not limited to, irrigation, mixing chemicals and fertilizers, spraying chemicals, and assisting the department with other duties such as table moving and minor repairs on machinery and/or irrigation system to ensure that crops are finished on a timely manner and with minimal losses.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Can follow directions from the Grower that is overseeing the area and be able to learn, understand and manage the irrigation programs through the climate control system.
  • Responsible for irrigating assigned plants by hand when needed.
  • Responsible for the understanding and basic knowledge about the use of pesticides (fungicides, insecticides, PGR’s, biologicals, etc.) and their applications.
  • Scouting for diseases, pests, and crop-related issues and immediately report to the grower.
  • Mix and spray chemicals on plants as directed.
  • In charge of keeping “Spray Signs” current.
  • Responsible for the basic maintenance and repair of irrigation systems, spraying machines, and other minor equipment. Report major maintenance issues to Grower and Maintenance Team.
  • Ensure proper growing environment for assigned plants by opening or closing vents, doors, and shade cloths as instructed.
  • Perform Greenhouse(s) housekeeping duties such as, but not limited to: weeding, sweeping, bench preparation, etc.
  • Assist with crop maintenance activities such as, not limited to: plant selection, plant spacing, plant pinching, etc.
  • Attend mandatory training as they are scheduled by their supervisor and/or safety.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

RFI is looking for a highly motivated, analytically-minded professional to join as a Key Account Specialist responsible for proactively delivering strategic insight in support of the RFI Sales Team.

What You Will Do - Position Summary:

As the Senior Product and Design Manager, you will be responsible for creating a clearly defined strategy for the development and execution of new and on-trend consumer products, as well as enhancing the current product lines in partnership with Horticulture, Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, Planning, and Finance to satisfy all company’s objectives.
