Position Summary:

As Rocket Farms Engineer, you will join the Maintenance team to maintain our existing facilities while assisting in plan and execution for expansion. You will plan, design, and oversee the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, and structures at our offices and production greenhouse facilities. This role will have the opportunity to make a huge impact on the future growth of all of our facilities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design, construction and qualification of a new facility projects across Rocket Farms.
  • Structures an organization to assist in the construction and long-term operation of the our sites, including but not limited to: facilities, project engineering, metrology, site services, reliability engineering, CQV and plant engineering.
  • Generates, plans and executes multi-project plan which meets financial and manufacturing targets.
  • Provides direction on equipment design, procurement, installation, commissioning and validation.
  • Provides direction on new building design, clean-room design, automation infrastructure design and general site related projects.
  • Supports the generation of structured work-plans and consistently works to improve department workflow and standards.
  • Works closely with Horticulture, Quality, Manufacturing, Validation, Facilities and Site Management to execute projects without impeding production.
  • Manages monthly roll-up of project budgets and expense budget associated with process equipment repairs.
  • Evaluates “facility fit” for new projects / processes and develops estimates for any required modifications or additional equipment loads.
  • Provides technical evaluation and input for Quality Assurance initiatives.
  • Works closely with finance to meet financial targets of each individual project and the site from a capital and general expense perspective.
  • Understands client relationships and assists site leadership team in securing new business at the site.
  • Works with partners to understand their needs and manages the technical relationship with partners.
  • Ensure all projects are executed with the highest level of planning and safety to prevent injuries and downtime.

 

Requirements:

  • A BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or related discipline with at least 2 years of engineering or manufacturing experience (preferably in greenhouse manufacturing operations).
  • Independent thinker, who with little oversight, can identify and diagnose problems, and implement appropriate and sustainable solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude and the ability to work with people from varied backgrounds and experiences.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross functional teams.

Position Summary:

The Grower I is responsible for the care of the crops being assigned by his/her supervisor ensuring that crops will finish on time and according to internal harvest specifications. This role will oversee crops grown in the Half Moon Bay area. The Grower I should adhere to established best practices and strategies to ensure success, which is measured via specific and defined objectives related to quality, crop timing and yield.

 

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Responsible for record keeping associated with assigned crops in all areas of harvesting as assigned by manager.
  • Responsible for water, fertility, soil, pest disease, crop timing, scheduling and planning management for assigned crops.
  • Manage quality control for assigned crops to ensure crops specifications are being met on a timely manner.
  • Liaison between Horticulture Department and Operations Department to ensure efficient communication regarding labor deployment efficiencies.
  • Report and communicate any problems associated with assigned crops to grower manager and other pertinent functions.
  • Effectively lead and supervise sprayers and irrigators by providing proper training, following safety procedures and taking disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Responsible for overseeing greenhouse daily maintenance, including a clean and safe work environment.
  • Work responsibly at all times. Report any hazardous conditions to department head.
  • This position works on a rotational schedule with other Growers to cover weekend work.
  • Perform any other related or assigned duties as required or assigned.

 

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture or Biological Sciences required.
  • 1year minimum pertinent work experience in managing greenhouses, crop trials and related fields required.
  • Must be capable of managing up to 3 employees; on the job training will be provided.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Bilingual (English/ Spanish) preferred.
  • Valid California Driver’s License and eligibility for company auto insurance required.
  • Ability to work successfully with all levels of management.
  • CA Private Applicator certification preferred.

The Machine Operator has direct oversight and responsibility for handling machinery as well as maintaining accurate records of assigned tasks pertinent to the assigned machine and the routine maintenance of the machines Additionally, the Machine Operator is responsible to help supervisor to double check quality standards to make sure activities are preformed effectively and efficiently.

  • Maintain a clean working area on a daily basis, specifically soil and plant material must be disposed in an appropriate manner at end of shift each day.

What You Will Do - Position Summary:

Based out of Southern California, the National Account Manager is responsible for strategically overseeing all sales needs of Rocket Farms Inc. major assigned accounts and ensuring that short- and long-term strategic goals are being met. The NAM’s duties include but are not limited to overseeing business reviews as needed and strategically partnering with accounts to set monthly, quarterly and annual sales and revenue goals, nurturing customer relations and representing Rocket Farms Inc. at tradeshows and other industry functions.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Partner with VP, Sales and assigned major accounts to develop and execute strategic plans pertinent to yearly sales and profitability targets within customer base/market segment-region.
  • Develop, plan, attend and lead company presentations to existing customers and new customers.
  • Analyze sales performance goals and create programs to achieve goals by month, quarter, and/or year.
  • Partner with other assigned National Account Manager’s to manage entire sales account process, order entry, product allocation, logistics and delivery confirmation.

Grower/Supplier relationships are a critical aspect of this job that requires the ability to develop & nurture an effective relationship with each customer. Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant is responsible for various aspects of general ledger, accounts payable and intercompany accounting functions. This position also assists in the month-end and year-end closing processes and various account reconciliations, account detail and variance analysis, and other various projects as they occur. The Staff Accountant works both under the direction of the Accounting Manager and independently to manage tasks and assignments in a timely manner to meet company deadlines and goals and ensure tasks are completed as expected.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Monthly preparation of bank reconciliations and AJEs
  • Monthly posting of month-end general ledger entries, credit card and OOP entries
  • Maintain month end account reconciliations
  • Monthly preparation and filing of sales taxes
  • Maintain Vendor files, assist with vendor W-9 requests, new vendor creation, year-end 1099s and miscellaneous filing
  • Business and entities related filing throughout the year related to various Federal, State and City reporting requirements
  • Verify weekly freight payment request and posting of freight payment entries
  • Prepare freight reports as needed
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close and audit process
  • Assist and cover A/P duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Four-year college degree; accounting major preferred
  • Minimum three to five years accounting work experience
  • Detail oriented and able to manage and post large volume of data with speed and accuracy
  • Able to plan, organize, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Able to establish and maintaining efficient filing and records retention of financial documents
  • Strong technical accounting background
  • Strong computer skills including experience with ERP accounting systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products
